The product has been a hit among developers, but its success comes at a cost: each session consumes massive compute resources—far more than a typical chat. To keep unit economics viable, Anthropic imposed weekly usage limits. Now, they've raised the limit by 50% not once but twice, and they're aiming to make the change permanent after August 31st. This is a classic supply-constrained play: use quotas to manage demand while you scramble to build more capacity.
